Font setting not applied immediately?

Just wondering what the time delay should be for assigning a font for a heading style to actually seeing it live on a web page? At the moment it seems to take an incredibly long time between assignment and seeing the change and I’m not sure if that’s normal or if I have to keep playing to get it working properly? Thanks
