Matching Email Validation

As many others have tried, I need to verify matching Email addresses from two fields match. I looked through support for the plugin and saw this from a while back:

“you can add a class to the confirmation field like this- equalTo[’email’]”

This does not work anymore, the [] and ” are stripped if you build the form, and if you copy them in manually, it breaks the form.

Is there a way to easily verify matching email addresses?
