We use your WordPress plugin WP Armour – Honeypot Anti-Spam version 2.3.04.

Since October 8, 2025, we have been receiving a large amount of spam submissions via our website forms.

Most of these come via the contact form and the newsletter subscription form.

Is it possible that the WP Armour – Honeypot Anti-Spam plugin is currently not working properly?

Can you please give me an update on this? I sent an email about this via your contact form on Wednesday, but have not received a response yet. An update to the latest version didn´t help.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,
    Dennis Hummel

I made a very similar post here at about the same time. Mine are simple nonsense words, presumably probing — but they are getting tedious. I’m also hoping for a solution. They stop for awhile after refreshing the Honey Pot Field Name in General Settings, and then continue.

    Hi,

Are those honeypot fields value filled in those submission ? Just wanted to track how those submission are not being flagged as spam. The new update worked for many including our own site which uses Divi form and not for all.

    Thanks

Hi Dinesh, I have no idea how to answer your question. In my case I’m speaking of the WP Comments form, plus “Happy Form” forms, which I’m pretty sure you support. I can provide examples, but I have no idea where to look to see if they’re filling in the Honey Trap or not.

On some websites, our plugin hasn’t been able to fully block spam, allowing a submissions to bypass the protection. We’re working on adding an additional system to strengthen spam prevention and will implement new measures to address this issue. Hope we can block them with new added protection.

OK, looking forward to that. I’m guessing you can’t be more specific so you don’t reveal what causes the hole, but I’ll say I’m pretty sure (based on earlier experience with Akismet, which showed tens of thousands of spam attempts per month) you’re blocking a VERY high percentage of my spam.

I see the same on several wwebsites and allways the same user agent:

    Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/134.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

    Chrome/134.0.0.0 is old: 4th March 2025

And since Chrome updates itself, the combination of this Chrome version on this version of Mac is being blocked by me to stop the spam.

    Maybe that helps.

    Hi all,

Any update regarding this? I still have some clients who get spammed like crazy. I use Elementor forms.

    Its all like this:

User Agent: “Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/134.0.0.0 Safari/537.36”

Hey everyone. I have the same problem. My form (Fluent Forms Pro) gets spammed like crazy. The honeypot is filled out with nonsense numbers and also all other fields just contain gibberish.
