ParticipantI have added an IP address to the whitelist, but it is still being blocked by WP Armour. How do I resolve this?
Dinesh
KeymasterHi John,
Thank you for reaching out.
Could you please provide more details about the issue? Is this happening on the login form or elsewhere?
Also, can you please confirm that the IP address you have whitelisted is the same as the one you’re currently using? Sometimes, IP addresses can change, especially if you’re using a dynamic IP.
Let me know so we can assist you further.
Best regards,
John Sinclair
ParticipantThis is happening on a contact form. I have an automated form tester (using Selenium). I have whitelisted its IP address, but I still see the same IP address appearing in the blocked IP list. I unblocked the IP from the block list, but it was blocked again on the next attempt to test the form. The IP address I am testing from is not changing.

KeymasterHi John,
WP Armour is designed to detect and block automated submissions, which is why your Selenium-based form tester is getting blocked even after whitelisting the IP. The plugin works at a script level rather than just blocking based on IP, so automated tools may still trigger our protection mechanisms.
Unfortunately, our plugin does not support automated form testing, as its primary function is to prevent bot submissions. You may need to temporarily disable WP Armour while running your tests.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

ParticipantDinesh,
The weird part though is that there are other sites I have installed WP Armour on where I can run the automated tests without this problem. Are you saying that if WP Armour detects bot activity it will blacklist that IP address, even if it is explicitly whitelisted?
Dinesh
KeymasterHi John,
Maybe you have added those honeypot fields in the automated form test? Could you check on this?
Yes, despite being whitelisted, it doesn’t allow form submission. However, it only restricts form submission, not site access. Our IP block mechanism completely blocks access to the site when an IP is blacklisted.
Thanks.
